Dear friends of Interface Cultures,
You are cordially invited to celebrate with us Sankt Interface Day on 6th December 2019.
Sankt Interface is an artistic project organized by Interface Cultures which serves also as the annual celebration of our department. It is not a coincidence that it is celebrated around every ninth of December, the same day of 1968 when Douglas Engelbart did his ultra-famous conference, known today as “The Mother of All Demos”.

At Sankt Interface, academic conferences, artistic performances, exhibitions, concerts and a “Computer Mouse Award” conform a celebration transforming into a happening in which students, professors, and friends of Interface Cultures participate at the same level.

This year’s event includes a special Welcome address by Mag. Brigitte Hütter, Rector of the Art University and a keynote by the Net artist, curator, theorist, and musician Alexei Shulgin. Shulgin launched the first online desktop exhibition in 1997 “Desktop is“ and its manifesto and also produced interactive works such as Form art (1997). Nowadays, Shulgin develops tangible objects and high-tech artworks in the project Electroboutique, in collaboration with Aristarkh Chernyshev. Both Shulgin and Chernyshev run the Elektromuseum in Moscow.
Sankt Interface 2019 also includes art performances and the fifth edition of the infamous Computer Mouse Award, which will take place at at Audimax. Finally a series of live music performances with electronic instruments as well as some hot DJ sessions will close the night in Dokapi. It’s a must see!

18:10-18:20 Introduction to Sankt Interface 2019 by Prof. Dr. Christa Sommerer, Head of the Interface Cultures Program.
18:20 – 19:00 Keynote by Alexei Shulgin.
19:15 – 20:15 Computer Mouse Contest Award (apply by/until 04/12/2018)
