SYSTEM and CONSCIOUSNESS

In zwei Kapiteln – Systems und Consciousness – gehen Wissenschaftler:-, Philosoph:- und Künstler:innen der Frage nach,
ob Interaktion Intelligenz kreiert und in welchem Verhältnis Bewusstsein zur Intelligenz steht.
Entsteht Bewusstsein in und aus komplexen Systemen ?
Ist Bewusstsein nur eine Frage der Komplexität von Systemen und der Zahl ihrer Rückkopplungsschleifen?
Oder ist es nicht eher umgekehrt, dass Abläufe und Strukturen, je mehr sie systematisiert, desto weniger intelligent sind?

Menschen und komplexere Lebewesen haben Bewusstsein.
Was ist ist das, das Wissen darüber dass ich bin, oder in der komplexeren Form das Wissen darüber dass ich über mich selbst reflektiere?
Können auch nicht biologische Entitäten, von Menschen gebaute Strukturen, Bewusstsein entwicklen?

In two chapters - Systems and Consciousness - scientists, philosophers and artists explore the question
of whether interaction creates intelligence and how consciousness relates to intelligence.
Does consciousness arise in and from complex systems?
Is consciousness only a question of the complexity of systems and the number of their feedback loops?
Or is it not rather the other way round that, the more systematised processes and structures are, the less intelligent they are?

Humans and more complex creatures have consciousness.
What is that, the knowledge that I am, or in the more complex form the knowledge that I reflect on myself?
Can non-biological entities, human-built structures, also develop consciousness?
