Seit 2004 verschreibt sich Crossing Europe Filmfestival Linz jährlich im April (2021 im Juni) programmatisch dem eigenwilligen, zeitgenössischen und gesellschaftspolitischen Autor*innenkino aus Europa. An sechs Festivaltagen bietet Crossing Europe seinen internationalen Film- und Pressegästen sowie Vertreter*innen der Filmbranche (rund 600 akkreditierte Festivalteilnehmer*innen) und dem heimischen Kinopublikum rund 140 Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme.
