Faraway Friends – Ganga Hotel (Official Music Video)

Between India and Europe, the new single Ganga Hotel tells the story of how the Faraway Friends collective came to being. Keno, Ditty and David Raddish met at a hotel in Varanasi by the Ganges River. “No matter where we are from, we all have a lot to learn, from sharing and understanding each other’s perspectives”. The track has a playful energy embodying the exuberant experience of their meeting, and ends with Ditty singing a folk Hindi poem that says 'water– the precious gem of the earth– from it stems all life'. The chorus vocals were recorded in the room at the Ganga Hotel where they met.

The collective Faraway Friends was co-founded by Indian singer-songwriter Ditty, Austrian drummer and producer David Raddish and German rapper Keno, frontman of the band Moop Mama. The three combined their talents after a project trip through India with Viva con Agua, an All-profit organization working for worldwide access to clean drinking water.
The samples recorded on this trip form the backbone of this album. Water runs through its spine in stories, songs and soundscapes. A mix of documentary and fiction, Rain is Coming takes you on a sonic trip to India and its water conservation movements - the creeks and crowds, the chants of activists and creatures.

Zwischen Indien und Europa erzählt die neue Single Ganga Hotel die Geschichte, wie sich das Faraway Friends Collective mit Keno, Ditty und David Raddish in einem Hotel in Varanasi nahe dem Ganges kennengelernt hat. „Wir haben unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf die Welt, aber durch gemeinsamen Austausch können wir einander verstehen lernen.“ Im Song ist die spielerische Energie des überschwänglichen ersten Treffens hörbar und er endet mit der von Ditty gesungenen Volksweise auf Hindi: „Wasser - das kostbare Juwel der Erde - daraus stammt alles Leben". Die Vocals des Chorus stammen aus dem Ganga Hotel.

Die Indische Singer-Songwriterin Ditty, der österreichische Drummer und Produzent David Raddish und der deutsche Rapper Keno, Frontmann von Moop Mama, haben sich auf einer Reise mit Viva con Agua durch Indien kennengelernt und gemeinsam ein Album produziert.
Die in Indien aufgenommenen Samples bilden die Grundlage des Albums, Bäche, Flüsse und Wasserklänge rauschen durch Songs und Geschichten. In einer Mischung aus Dokumentation und Fiktion nimmt uns das Album Rain is Coming mit auf eine musikalische Reise durch Indien zu den Schauplätzen der Wasseraktivist*innen.
