DKS#3 - Dunkelkammer Sessions | 11.03.21 Echo Galia Eibenschutz (MX) / Bernadette Laimbauer (AT) Searching for a way communication apart from the visual image but almost like telepathy, and with a common interest in the voice, Galia and Bernadette started their process by sharing voice recordings in which it was possible to hear the size of the space through echo. Then, through a sound dialogue, they became the echo of each other. “We are free echoes, we imagined that as a kind of ghost while usually echo repeats the same tone pitch but becomes more and more quiet, our task to echo each other had more freedom.” At the end there was the feeling that they got to know each other from their singings and that they are connected from the body. sessions.dunkelkammer.net/galia-eibenschutz-bernadette-laimbauer >>>>> Dunkelkammer Sessions is a platform of virtual improvisation that explores the intersubjective relations of a dialogue, through dance, performance and sound art. The format brings together two artists from distant locations, to realize a performative improvisation, using audio as the sole communication channel. Under this setting, the invisibility of the 'other' reveals the voice, echo, silence and non verbal communication between the participants, emerging as new semantic fields that embrace abstraction, telepathy and intimacy. The series makes a question in the context of digital media, in 6 sessions, with 12 artists located in the cities of Mérida, Ciudad de México, Linz and Zaragoza. DKS is curated and organized by Gabriela Gordillo and Fernando Vigueras, with the support of Linz Sounds, Casa del Lago and DORF TV in cooperation with servus.at, Primal, CCD Radio y Radio FRO.
