Hello, I am Jorja Janamičiuta, film director from Lithuania, and I'm here to present my short film called On Time. And the main character of it is Jule. She just turned 27. She is about to become a judge, but she has a big problem. She is always late and she has problems because of it at her work. And she really can't ruin it because she wants to be a judge. And she decides to take driving lessons. She assumes that it could help solve her problem. And here she meets driving instructor Arturas and the real cause of her problem starts to show. What inspired you to make this film? but the theme is a bit different. It's about a lack of ability to be close to people. So in this Freudian way, during the film, my character realizes that she's late because she is closed down from people physically close to her. So I would never recommend doing a film about being late because everything that is possible was late. I'm still surprised how we made this film because in all of the possible situation, everything was late. We shot it one of the last and we also had to reshoot some scenes because we didn't manage to make them on time, of course. And the premiere was late. So usually everything goes like that in a very smooth, but this film, it was total opposite. So never do a film about being late but i'm happy that we did it so in the end everything was on time so uh first i was a journalist and i still am, but I'm also a director right now. So I did my bachelor's in journalism in Vilnius and I was also a film critic, but I realized that I need more creative challenges. So after my studies, I went to this film school in Denmark called European Film College and after that I joined the master's degree in film directing in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre where I graduated and Film on Time was my graduation film So I see short film as a totally independent medium. I did three shorts already, like more during my studies and now we just finished my new short film first one after the studies funded by Lithuanian Film Center and it's called the Parking Lot and the film is now is in post-production and after that, I have one more short waiting in line and one more I want to write. So I totally see it as an independent medium, which I want to do. In the meantime, I am writing a feature film, but I don't want to stop making shorts. I totally love them. And I'm very happy that there are short film festivals and opportunity to show them For me But in spring it was a bit hard at first but then in the end I'm very happy that I had a chance to move to the seaside. So that's where I wrote a short film we are finishing right now, Parking Lot. So it was my quarantine baby. And in the beginning of June, I think, quarantine was canceled and the shootings resumed. So we could also do it. We shot in the beginning of September. And now when I'm recording this video, actually it's the first day of quarantine in Vilnius again. Not in all Lithuania we have it, but in some cities where there are more cases so but things shootings are not still still not stopping but I also work as a casting director as a job so now for now I will stop because it's not really safe but I am I think for filmmakers quarantine is not that bad because we can use it as a chance for writing so I mentioned all these plans I have so I am planning to do this just I hope it's not gonna last too long so thank you for having me i hope you all stay safe and healthy and i hope you to see you in live in future editions of lynn's international short film festival so bye Hi, my name is Kasia and I want to introduce you to my movie Sunrise. The movie is about a couple who are struggling because one person cheated on another.
